8 Shenton Singapore Tallest Building with Bamboo inspired Skyscraper

The new tallest skyscraper in Singapore will be built, according to plans released by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). The ambitious mixed-use structure, 8 Shenton Way, will have a bamboo forest-inspired exterior covered in greenery, with a design emphasis on creating a healthy workplace environment after COVID-19.

The structure will be situated in a prominent area close to Marina Bay and rise to a height of 305 m (1,001 ft), easily surpassing SOM’s Guoco Tower, which is currently the tallest structure in Singapore at 284 m. (931 ft). It will actually use engineered bamboo, terracotta, glass, and concrete in addition to having a general design that is influenced by bamboo forests. There will also be a number of garden terraces covered in vegetation.
