Iran has introduced its own designed and built combat aircraft Qaher F-313 (Dominant F-313). Qaher F-313, as per report of Iranian Defense Ministry, is one seated and can fight at low altitudes and has been made from advanced materials, enabling the aircraft to very low radar cross section. An unveiling was also shown at Iranian Satat TV.
Iranian own English Press TV says that although the aircraft has resemblance with F-5E/F Tiger II, but it is said to be similar to F/A-18. It follows the footsteps of Iranian first own manufactured combat jet fighter, HESA Azarakhsh and its follow up, the HESA Saeqeh (Thunderbolt).
The unveiling ceremony was lead by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the 34th anniversary of Iranian Revolution, Mr. Ahmadinejad said the “aircraft demonstrates Iran’s will to “conquer scientific peaks” and was built for deterrence rather than expansionism”.
